Who is Jesus according to the Bible? Who is Jesus to you?

Simply put according to the bible, He was and is God, part of the Trinity, the one who was and is and is to come. In Mathew 1 verse 23 He is called Emmanuel and that means God with us.

The Old Testament speaks to his coming, Isaiah 9 verse 6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end.

More to near the end of the bible in the book of Hebrews, God the Father says this about His son.

Hebrews 1 verse 8 -12
8
But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You above Your companions with the oil of joy.” 10And: “In the beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. 11They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. 12 You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed, but You remain the same, and Your years will never end.”

Now let’s look at the very beginning in Genesis as God said let us make man in “our” own image. So just like we just read in Hebrews that Jesus made the world.

Colossians 1 vs 17
The Supremacy of Christ

16 For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and firstborn from among the dead, so that in all things He may have preeminence.…

And at the end of the bible, it says He is coming back and that everyone will see Him, even those who pierced him. That also means you!

Revelations reads:
Who Is Worthy To Open The Scroll? A Lamb Takes It From The One On The Throne

5 And I saw upon the right hand of the One sitting on the throne a scroll having been written inside and on-the-back, having been sealed-down with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven nor on earth nor under the earth was able to open the scroll nor to look-at [a] it. 4 And I was weeping greatly because no one worthy was found to open the scroll nor to look at it. 5 And one of the elders says to me, “Do not be weeping. Behold— the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, overcame so as to open the scroll and its seven seals”. 6 And I saw in the midst of the throne and the four living-creatures, and in the midst of the elders, there was a Lamb as-if [b] having been slain, standing, having seven horns, and seven eyes (which are the seven Spirits[c] of God having been sent-forth into all the earth). 7 And He came, and He has taken it out of the right hand of the One sitting on the throne.

Then The One On The Throne And The Lamb Are Worshiped By All Creation

8 And when He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb— each one holding a harp and golden bowls being full of incense (which are the prayers of the saints). 9 And they are singing a new song, saying “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because You were slain, and You bought[d] for God with Your blood some from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and You made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon[e] the earth”. 11 And I saw, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and of the living-creatures, and of the elders— and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands— 12 saying with a loud voice “Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing”. 13 And I heard every creature which is in the heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and[f] all the things in them, saying “To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the dominion forever and ever”. 14 And the four living-creatures were saying “amen”. And the elders fell and worshiped.

Revelation 19:11-16, New King James Version
Christ on a White Horse

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He [a]had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in [b]fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a [c]sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS
AND LORD OF LORDS

While some religious cults want to portray Jesus as a child or as something they can fit into their corrupted religious box, Jesus is Lord, Sovereign, Mighty, All-Powerful, and Worthy! To fear God is to show complete respect and honor to the one who gave you the breath of life (plasm 139) The One who holds the power over sin and death and the one you will answer to one day. One that day will He be your Lord or your Judge.

Will you hear, “welcome into the joy of your rest” or will you hear “Depart from me” as you are forever cast out of His presence.

Matthew 25:31-46
The Sheep and the Goats

While you try to fill the empty hole in your being with all sorts of things from this world, money, sex drugs, work, power, etc. all the while these false gods, these cheap substitutes that can never satisfy for more than a moment, that turn on you and devour you all of these imitations of true life only make that whole in you bigger! Only Jesus is big enough to fill that void and when you stand before him in judgment and his presence radiates everything you truly every wanted, needed, and desired how great will your unbearable regret be when you are cast out forever from Him. Today friend, while you are still living you still have a chance to repent and taste the salvation of God!

Remember man’s righteousness is filthy rags before God. A term that comes from a women’s used menstrual cloth, bad blood if you will. God is not, nor will He ever be impressed by man’s righteousness nor does a sovereign God need it. Just the opposite is true, God opposes the proud and draws close to the humble. Not by works lest any man boast. Have you humbled yourself before God? Or have you tried to fit him into your ideas of who he really is? Are you really living to please him or your flesh? Its never been about church ( Mathew 23) It always been about a relationship with the Savior of the World, Jesus the Christ.

Jesus is the only way you can be cleansed and forgiven from your sin. The only way! It is not your religion, your parents, your church it is Jesus! And only you and Him will be standing together when you die. The mighty and Glorious one just described in the earlier paragraphs of this plea for your soul loves you! Died for You! And wants to have a relationship with you if you will just turn from your sin and trust in Him. This Christ is the judge of the world as only He is pure enough to Judge correctly. Make no mistake you have broken the moral law of God, the ten commandments, and according to the bible you are to be condemned to die. For all have sinned against God and the wages of sin, the payment for sin is death! But Jesus came that you may have life! That you can be set free from the wages of death by the payment He made on the cross. He paid a debt He did not owe because you owe a debt you cannot pay. In His mercy and love for you, his hand is reaching out calling to you as you read this.Friend don’t die in your sin! Turn to Jesus and be saved!
